Un progetto ormai consolidato di
divulgazione scientifica e terza
missione: al via l’Edizione 2021 di
“Caffè Scienza – Insolite chiacchiere
da bar”
A well-established project of scientific dissemination and third mission: green light to the 2021 Edi-
tion of “Caffè Scienza - Insolite chiacchiere da bar”
The 21 September is the start date of the new edition of “Caffè Scienza - Insolite chiacchiere da bar”, a series
of scientific outreach meetings held since 2015 on the territory of Modena, from this year organised by Uni-
more, with the support of the Marco Biagi Foundation.
The format of the “cafè scientifique” was created as an informal occasion in a public place, to meet and di-
scuss a scientific topic of interest, in a pleasant environment, in the company of experts, to reduce distance
and strengthen confidence in scientists, and consolidate the relationship between the world of research and
the territorial community.
The Caffè Scienza initiative, now in its sixth year, has seen the consolidation of its audience and hosted
prestigious figures who have volunteered to discuss topics of scientific relevance directly with the audience.
The 2021 Edition includes ten evenings by reservation for up to 35 people, at the Caffè Concerto, in Piazza
Grande in Modena, where the focus will be on scientific areas all sharing the need to clarify issues little known
or not always understood, including meetings on the psychological consequences of lockdown, animal testing,
organic and biodynamic farming, and the use of forensic genetics in criminal cases, the effect of human action
on the forests around us and scientific fraud.
