FIM: Exhibition, seminars and online conferences at Italian Quantum Weeks

On the occasion of the national initiative Italian Quantum Weeks, a project dedicated to the dissemina-
tion of quantum technologies, the Department of Physical, Computer and Mathematical Sciences (FIM) of
Unimore organised several activities to promote knowledge of the quantum world and the opportunities
that the quantum revolution is about to bring. The exhibition “Dire l’indicibile - L’entanglement quantistico”
(Saying the Unspeakable - Quantum entanglement), involves the University’s physicists in welcoming groups
of schools and members of the public. It consists of illustrated panels, games and interactive exhibits, with
the possibility for schools and the public to take free guided tours run by students from the International
Master’s Degree in Physics and students from the PhD school in Physics and Nanoscience. Italian Quantum
Weeks are promoted by Italian scientists, lecturers and educators on the occasion of World Quantum Day.
Thanks to the wide network of participating scientific partners, it is an initiative characterised by nationwide
events, scheduled in face-to-face mode and online and dedicated to an audience of all ages. Other initia-
tives implemented by Unimore include ‘QUANTUM@SCHOOL - Quanta Scuola!’, a cycle of refresher semi-
nars for teachers. This refresher course was dedicated to the teaching of quantum physics in secondary
schools. Online conferences for schools and the public and contests open to individuals, groups and schools
were also held. The seminar ‘Quanta quantorum - Quantum@school’, attempted to answer the many ques-
tions related to the teaching of these important technologies by presenting some concrete examples. You
