Listening, socialising, good participation practices: the work of the Technical Board for Student
                  Services

Unimore has set up for the first time the ‘Technical Table for Student Services’, a consultative and proposi-
tional body that aims to analyse the needs of the student world and propose innovative solutions to im-
prove university services. The initiative is part of the university community project which aims to create an
inclusive and sustainable environment in which students can feel an active part. Among the Table’s main
objectives are the improvement of facilities and services (classrooms, libraries, transport and info-points),
the promotion of quality accommodation and the reduction of economic, social and cultural barriers. As a
confirmation of this commitment, two important initiatives were realised in 2024: the ‘Welcome Day’ and
the ‘Digital Civil Service’. The ‘Welcome Day’ was held over two days, in Modena and Reggio Emilia, offering
the freshmen of the 2024/25 academic year a warm welcome through cultural and musical activities and
meetings with student associations and institutional partners. The event met with broad approval, strength-
ening the sense of belonging to the university community. The ‘Digital Civil Service’, launched in December,
represents another significant milestone. Thanks to the ‘Digital Culture: libraries and educational paths in
Emilia-Romagna 2024’ project, the University libraries are becoming places of digital inclusion, accessible
not only to students but also to the general public, fostering the dissemination of digital and cultural skills.
These projects demonstrate Unimore’s strong commitment to promoting listening, socialisation and good
participatory practices, creating a bridge between the student community, the university and the territory.
The Technical Board will continue its work with new project proposals in the calls for Universal and Environ-
mental Civil Service, contributing to the growth of an increasingly participatory and innovative university.
