Il Concerto di Natale di Unimore

                  Unimore Christmas Concert 2024

The Unimore Christmas Concert 2024 opened the celebrations for the University’s 850th anniversary with
a performance of Händel’s Te Deum HWV 280. Now in its third year, the event, which this year was open to
all citizens, sold out at the Church of Sant’Agostino, confirming it as an increasingly deep-rooted Christmas
tradition. The stars of the evening were the Andrea Palladio Baroque Choir and Orchestra, conducted by
Enrico Zanovello, who performed pieces by Händel and Bach, including the Magnificat BWV 243 and the
motet O Jesu Christ, mein’s Lebens Licht BWV 118. The Unimore Choir, led by Antonella Coppi, concluded
with the traditional Gaudeamus Igitur. The 2024 concert marked the conclusion of a three-year musical
journey that began in 2022 with music by Vivaldi, Torelli and Händel, and continued in 2023 with Bach. ‘This
initiative bears witness to Unimore’s role as a promoter of culture and dialogue with the territory,’ said the
Rector, Prof. Carlo Adolfo Porro, thanking the artists and the audience. The evening, marked by emotion and
engagement, reaffirmed the importance of music as a means to foster community and celebrate beauty,
strengthening the bond between the University and its citizens.
