upon Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of UNESCO
To mark the 850th anniversary of Unimore, on 12 September 2025 an Honorary Master’s Degree in Law
was conferred upon Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of UNESCO. The award citation, presented by Profes-
sors Gianfrancesco Zanetti and Thomas Casadei, highlighted Azoulay’s dedication to protecting cultural heri-
tage, promoting ac-cess to culture, and developing global normative instruments on the ethics of artificial
intelligence and neurotechnologies. The ceremony, held at the Fondazione Collegio San Carlo as part of the
34th National Congress of the Italian Society of Philosophy of Law, underscored her international leadership
in advancing these causes. In her Lectio Magistralis, Azoulay reaffirmed the importance of multilateralism
and international law as essential tools for addressing global challenges.
