Ricercatori universitari: struttura del pre-ruolo

Riceviamo e pubblichiamo dall’Associazione dei Ricercatori a Tempo Determinato (ARTeD).
In questa lettera – ricevuta dall’Associazione dei Ricercatori a Tempo Determinato (ARTeD) – viene descritta
la struttura del pre-ruolo universitario, che negli ultimi anni ha subito numerose modifiche ed integrazioni.

University Researchers: Structure of the Pre-Tenure Phase
The letter from the Association of Fixed-Term Researchers (ARTeD) outlines the current structure of the
Italian university pre-tenure phase, which has undergone significant changes in recent years. The pre-tenure
period spans from the achievement of a PhD to the eventual appointment as an Associate or Full Profes-
sor and is often marked by contractual precariousness. The letter analyses the various types of contracts
introduced by Laws 240/2010 and 79/2022, highlighting the transition from traditional research fellowships
to the new Research Contracts (CDR), and the gradual replacement of Fixed-Term Researchers (RTD) with
Tenure Track Researchers (RTT). It emphasises the challenging employment situation, with approximately
74% of researchers in precarious conditions and a high risk of not achieving permanent positions. Founded
in 2013, ARTeD is committed to protecting the rights of precarious researchers and promoting their stable
integration into the university system, working in collaboration with institutions and other organisations.
