Unimore at the UNIgreen Annual Summit
Unimore participated in the UNIgreen Annual Summit in Almeria, Spain, from 17th to 19th February 2025,
with a delegation led by Rector Prof. Carlo Adolfo Porro. The event brought together universities from the
UNIgreen Alliance, an important thematic network comprising eight European institutions, including Uni-
more, with the aim of creating a leading European university in the fields of sustainable agriculture, green
biotechnology, and environmental and life sciences. During the summit, key topics for the future of higher
education were discussed, focusing on collaboration between universities, businesses, and institutions and
the search for new European funding. In particular, the Alliance celebrated its third anniversary, consolidating
its role in promoting university education increasingly aligned with global sustainability challenges. Unimore
made a significant contribution, emphasising the value of initiatives such as joint doctorates, dual degree
programmes, and Blended Intensive Programmes, which aim to strengthen international cooperation and
innovate academic training. Specifically, Unimore launched a joint doctoral programme with other universi-
ties in the Alliance and is developing a dual degree programme with the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra,
actively contributing to shaping the future of UNIgreen as a European benchmark for sustainable education
and research.
