Il Bilancio di Sostenibilità di Unimore

                  The Unimore Sustainability Report

In recent decades, interest in sustainable development has grown significantly, leading organisations to
adopt socio-environmental responsibility and to implement reporting tools such as the Sustainability Report.
Universities, with their crucial role in teaching, research and interaction with the community, are called upon
to play a leading role in the transition towards sustainable development, contributing to the achievement of
the goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda (SDGs). Unimore’s Sustainability Report is a key tool for report-
ing the University’s activities and results in relation to ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) dimensions,
ensuring transparency to both internal and external stakeholders. The process of drafting the Report was
managed by a Scientific Technical Committee (STC) and involved a broad stakeholder engagement process
in to identify the priorities and expectations of various academic communities and territorial stakeholders.
The Report focuses on key themes, such as university identity and governance, teaching quality, research,
the third mission, environmental resource management and staff health and well-being. Special atten-
tion was also given to economic, social and environmental impacts through the adoption of GRI standards
and the connection with the SDGs. This Report not only provides a complete and coherent overview of the
University’s activities but is also a first step towards continuous and structured monitoring of sustainability
performance, with the aim of constantly improving reporting tools and promoting sustainability in every
aspect of the university’s work, in the long term.
